Transplanted to SC

I can just about fry an egg on my face...

Or at least if feels that way. We had our second yard sale today (first was around September--and we actually had two ladies today who remembered us!). It was freezing cold so I tried to stay in the sun... and my face is red. Very red. Not quite "Did you paint your face for the [insert sporting event here]?" but enough that it (oh, and my ears) hurt right now. But it was worth it....
We made some extra cash even though we were just about giving stuff away, and we met some new people. Said they moved into the next subdivision three days ago, followed his parents down. They've got young kids, which I don't mind. Might be nice for a change, since I haven't done any babysitting since January or so. Good thing about being around kids when you're not babysitting is that they're most likely NOT sick. So anyway, the wife came earlier with her in-laws and said that he's into running Linux and all, and she brought him by later on. They actually stuck around for a while and talked. I'm so excited about the possibility of making a new friend. Maybe this time it'll stick. Probably not, but I'm hoping for the best.
So, best of all, we'll be getting rid of the rest of the pile in the garage on Friday. The National Kidney Foundation's truck is coming by that day, and all we have to do is have this out by 8am. Woo hoo! Yeah... had LOTS of clothes left. I really should comb through what's in my closet and get rid of more. I always wear the same stuff over and over, someone should have it that'll actually get some use out of it.
Mayfield's Birthday Cake Ice Cream is great. Steven and I ate the half gallon in less than a week.
I've been wanting to let someone know about my (meager) icon awards... so here are the banners:

(I made the icons that are within the banners, just to be clear.)

Okay, it feels late and I've done enough rambling.

Monday, March 20

just another gray day

Today has been alright... Finished a load of laundry and did another one (start to finish--yay!). Also ran the dishwasher. Got some icons made for some lj comms I'm in. So for the most part I've been sitting down. And Cusack (my 2 and a half-year-old) has been sitting in my lap almost the whole time. A couple of times I've put her on the couch so I can get up, and in the short time that I take to start getting up, she sits on my lap again. She's watching me type right now.
I'm so glad I have someone to share my day with.

Why am I still awake??

Well, Steven and I just got home from seeing the play Noises Off. It was quite funny, which is really what I needed. We've got the movie around here somewhere and might try to watch it this weekend (haven't ever seen it).

It was nice going to the theater again (for the second time in Charleston, and ever). But yeah, I'm way too tired to stay up for anything else. Just wanted to do this before I forgot.

Charleston Stage

First post

Well, there are enough people that I know from way back that I've decided to get a blog here (at least so I don't have to comment annonymously). So here I am.
